Heal childhood emotional wounds

Inner Child Therapy

The part of you that learned to stay small, stay quiet, or stay useful is still running the room. Inner Child Therapy goes to that younger self with the attention it did not get the first time — and lets the pattern soften from the root rather than the symptom.

Inner Child Therapy session at The Healing Room

What it is

A guided process that brings you into contact with the parts of yourself formed in childhood — the ones holding fear, shame, anger or unmet need. Rather than analysing the memory, the work is relational: you learn to meet that younger self with the steadiness no one offered at the time.

What it helps with

Low self-worth, people-pleasing, fear of abandonment, difficulty setting boundaries, harsh self-criticism, emotional reactivity that feels out of proportion, and the sense of being stuck in a version of yourself you have outgrown.

What a session looks like

Sessions are one-to-one and unhurried. Your practitioner guides you into a relaxed state, works with whatever surfaces, and closes with grounding and integration. You leave with a practice to continue the reparenting between sessions.

Questions

What people ask about Inner Child Therapy

No. The work is not about re-experiencing trauma in detail. Your practitioner works at the pace your nervous system can hold, and much of the process is about building safety before anything else.

That is common and it is not a barrier. The body and emotional patterns carry the information even when explicit memory does not.

Talk therapy works largely through understanding. Inner child work is experiential — the shift happens through the felt relationship with that younger part, not through insight alone.
